High Sierras One More Time

2 dager / 421 miles / 9 timer 29 minutter

Join us for a two day ride. The planned route for our two days is ~420 miles round trip. The planned route begins and ends in Folsom CA.

On Saturday we'll head through the foothills to Sierra high country. We'll cruise through Volcano on our way to Tragedy Springs and Carson Pass. On the other side we'll swing through Markleeville and down Monitor Pass to Hwy 395. Bridgeport, Coleville, and Walker will lead us to Hwy 108 and the beautiful 2300' ascent to Sonora Pass. We'll continue west and enjoy the magnificent vistas the west side of the mountain has to offer. Sonora will be our overnight rest spot. Total miles on route for Saturday will be about 230.

Sunday's ride will be a bit shorter. Depending on the wishes of the group, we might make a stop at Railtown 1897 State Historic Park, Columbia SHP, or Moaning Caverns after a leisurely breakfast. Our cruise will then take us up Hwy 49 to Moke Hill where we'll make a detour up the scenic and fun Hwy 26 to Glencoe and West Point, coming back down Hwy 88 to Pine Grove. We'll head out around Jackson and Martel on Ridge Road, rejoining Hwy 88 to Hwy 124 and Ione...then head for Folsom via Rancho Murieta and Scott Road.

Everyone is responsible for arranging their own overnight accommodations. Robin and I will be staying at Heritage Inn Yosemite/Sonora.

While I'm on my bike I plan to ride sober and safe, and my expectation is that everyone else on the ride will do the same.
