AR: Brunch in Knights Ferry

en dag / 147 miles / 3 timer 51 minutter

Our day's sojourn will begin with meeting in the parking lot across from Adrea's Bakery in Amador City by 7;45 AM -- full tanks and empty bladders -- KSU 8:15. Leaving Amador City, we'll head out on Amador County's scenic gold country roads toward Pardee, Valley Springs, Jenny Lind...and finally Knights Ferry (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knights_Ferry,_California).
Following brunch we'll make a quick stop 2 mi down the road at the Willms Ranch, then head toward Lake Tulloch, Copperopolis, San Andreas, and points beyond up the Golden Chain Highway -- finally touching down again in Amador City. 147 mi RT

Knights Ferry is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, about 40 miles east of Modesto on the Stanislaus River. The Willms Ranch, a California Landmark near the town, was one of many filming locations for the television series Bonanza and Little House on the Prairie. Knights Ferry is also home to the Knights Ferry Bridge, the longest covered bridge west of the Mississippi at 330 feet in length.
